50 AMERICAN ARTISTS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Accessible and informative, this book is a gorgeous introduction to great American artists. While the history of American art is as varied as the fifty states the country is comprised of, it tells a story of a uniquely American aesthetic: bold, innovative, and uncompromising. Starting with the portraits of John Singleton Copley and the landscape masterpieces of Frederic Church, this exciting look at the most important American artists moves through the era of Cassatt, Whistler, and Sargent to the groundbreaking works of O Keeffe, Cornell, and Calder.

A BIGGER MESSAGE CONVERSATION WITH DAVID HOCKNEY
In this remarkable book, a record of a decade of private conversations with art critic Martin Gayford, David Hockney reveals via reflection, anecdote, passion and humour the fruits of his lifelong meditations on the problems and paradoxes of representing a three-dimensional world on a flat surface. These conversations are punctuated by wise and witty observations from both parties on numerous other artists, and enlivened by shrewd insights into the contrasting social and physical landscapes of California, where Hockney spent so many years, and Yorkshire, the birthplace to which he has returned.

A COLORING BOOK. DRAWINGS BY ANDY WARHOL
It was 1953 when, not long after arriving in New York City, a young artist named Andy Warhol had begun to make his way in the world of commercial illustration. As Arthur Edelman, his former employer, relates in his introductory note, in a hallway of the Empire State Building ‘stood a young man with Jackson Pollock shoes, a rumpled black suit, a portfolio, and a shock of white hair’. Over several years, the Edelmans and Warhol worked closely together. Their relationship culminated in a colouring book that could have only come from the mind of Warhol, created especially for clients’ children for Christmas in 1961, and somewhat of a cause célèbre when it was published in 1990.

ABSTRACT ART
With roots in early Cubism and Futurism and reaching maturity in Op art and Minimalism, "Abstract Art" encompasses all forms of non-figurative expression. This book explores the diverse ways artists from the early 20th century, beginning with Kandinsky, through the 1960s used abstraction to express artistic ideas, such as the paint splatters of Jackson Pollock, the geometric shapes of Piet Mondrian, the non-objective squares of Malevich, and the complex compositions of Wassily Kandinsky.
